Está obra se llama Madre ahí está tu hijo
y lo que pasa es que por ejemplo en Cuba en muchas familias hay alguien que
policía muchas familias, alguien que es un represor. Muchas veces el hijo de
ese represor no está de acuerdo con el régimen y entonces tenemos como
divisiones dentro de una misma familia. El papá puede ser seguridad del Estado
y el hijo no quiere tener nada que ver con eso. El hijo quiere libertad
entonces ahí trato de reflejar como que hay una protesta de patria y vida de
los jóvenes. Y se esta mujer policía que fue a reprimir esos jóvenes se da
cuenta de que le dispararon a su hijo. Su hijo no pensaba igual que ella. Su
hijo estaba en la manifestación pidiendo libertad. Sin embargo los otros
policías que andaban con ella, la gente a la seguridad del Estado de Castro, lo
asesinó; la asesinó a su hijo que pensaba diferente de ella entonces por eso es
el título madre ahí está tu hijo.
This piece is titled Mother, There’s Your Son. What is happening here is, for example, in Cuba within many families there exists someone who polices the families, someone who is a repressor. Many times, the son of that repressor does not agree with the regime, and we then have divisions within the same family. The dad could be a representative of the state security and the son may not want to have anything to do with that. The son wants freedom. So I try to reflect that there is a protest for the homeland and life of young people. I know of a policewoman who went to repress those young people only to realize that they had shot her son. Her son did not think the same as her. He was at the demonstration asking for freedom. However, the other police officers who were with her, the people in the security of Castro's State, murdered him. She murdered her son who thought differently than her; hence that's why the title is Mother, There's Your Son.
